Social Media & Consciousness Traps
Social Media - the prime communication method of our time. Pictures, videos, advertising, pleas, and anything you can imagine are on social media. Artificial Intelligence, AI, algorithms running in the background, AI created images, videos, voices, and complete content created by AI.
Why are you on social media, ever asked yourself- because others are, to talk with friends and family, to sell something, to make money by being an influencer, to make people laugh, to share information, to share skills, to share knowledge, to share wisdom, to share politics, to influence people's thoughts...
Consciousness Traps - consciousness is being alive, knowing you are alive, being able to think. Rene Descartes', "I think, therefore, I am". Our planet, our solar system, our galaxy, our Universe is conscious. A trap is a deliberate action to constrain something in someway. Put the two concepts together and you get a deliberate action by someone/thing to constrain a beings consciousness, thinking, or knowing about their life.
Remember Youtube and the long hours of watching video after video and then realizing hours have pasted. Now instead of sitting infront of your computer, you carry your phone with you and watch social media hour upon hour, days after days, months after months, years after years. What are you connecting with, what messages are you receiving, what are you learning, what are you accomplishing. Do you know your own soul.
Are you connecting with yourself and the world, are you loving, are you gaining experience and wisdom, are you learning, are you creating a better world, are you creating a better you...
I have always hated social media. I only got on facebook because they bought Oculus and said I had to have a facebook account or would loose access to my Oculus. Then when I began this business, I was told you have to be on social media. I have reluctantly put up a business facebook and joined other's groups.
Social Media does not feel right to me. It feels chaotic, self-serving, self-promoting, and noise. I hear nails on a chalkboard. You will not see new contend often on my social media. I do not have that much to say or sell every single day. When I do post, it is for people to come see me in-person when I'm at a fair, something important for wellness, or my monthly food specials, yes selling something.
I think social media is a consciousness trap which limits people's ability to expand their perspectives, learning, experience, and wisdom about their life and connect with the universe. People have lived many hundreds, thousands of years without a phone and social media. Nature has a lot to say, if you only listen and see. Connect with your soul.
